Turkey Creek tunnel with John Grothaus

John Grothaus, P.E. from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers shared the history and repairs of the Turkey Creek tunnel near Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, KS. The tunnel carries a remarkable quantity of water during flood events. Listen to the podcast.

About the host of "Building Kansas City"

Dr. Deb O'Bannon: Deb O’Bannon taught civil engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) from 1989-2018. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from MIT, a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College in New York and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers. She is currently the Engineering Program Director at an university in Kansas City.
