Lafarge Concrete

Steve Kidwell and Jarrod Huntley from Lafarge shared how cement dust is made, and how industrial byproducts like coffee grounds, construction debris, and brewery waste are used as fuel in the Lafarge plant. Listen to the podcast.

About the host of "Building Kansas City"

Dr. Deb O'Bannon: Deb O’Bannon taught civil engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) from 1989-2018. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from MIT, a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College in New York and a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a Fellow of the Society of Women Engineers. She is currently the Engineering Program Director at an university in Kansas City.
